Profile of the university

The Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin) is one of Berlin’s largest universities of applied sciences. It’s renowned for its practice-oriented teaching, intensive and diverse research, high quality standards, as well as a strong international orientation. It comprises five Departments and two Central Institutes. The academic centre is specialised in business and administration skills for the public and private sector, as well as public security, the law and engineering.
Our courses facilitate in-depth learning and specialisations in a wide range of undergraduate, graduate and professional education programmes.

In Germany, HWR Berlin has an unparalleled teaching and research profile in the field of security management. The Department of Police and Security Management has over ten years of experience in providing specialised undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes focusing on security in both the public and private sectors, at national and international levels. With 50 academic staff-members and almost 1,500 students, the faculty is one of the largest departments of its kind in Germany.
